The Friends of Epiphany School Foundation was born out of the opportunity to secure the future of Epiphany School
Reduced enrollment
Lower enrollment at Epiphany school, possibly caused by the cost of tuition and lack of community awareness, reduced the school’s income
Increased costs and budget deficits
An increase in operating costs, coupled with the decrease in enrollment, created a budget deficit the school was forced to address
Epiphany Parish’s support
The Church has a long-standing commitment to meet the additional financial needs of the school and has assisted in covering the school’s deficit
Planning for the future
To address the issues of enrollment and costs long term, a growth and development plan was put in place to secure Epiphany School’s future

Reduce Tuition to grow Epiphany enrollment
In an effort to increase enrollment at Epiphany School and provide the opportunity for an Epiphany education to more students, funds from the school’s endownment are currently being used to pay a portion of every student’s tuition directly to the Diocese. BUT, at some point these funds will be depleted.
Create Foundation to grow available funds for the school
The non-profit Friends of Epiphany School Foundation has been established to raise funds to replace the endowments currently being used to subsidize Epiphany student’s tuitions. The funds raised by the Foundation will be put toward these subsidies and supporting Epiphany students and staff.
Hire Marketing & Alumni Directors to drive community growth
Epiphany School hired Sara Kitts as its Director of Recruitment & Marketing and the Friends of Epiphany School Foundation hired Colleen Rich as its Director of Fundraising & Alumni Affairs. These positions drive engagement with both the school and the foundation, increasing awareness of our school in the community.

In 2023, the school announced a plan to reduce tuition across the board for all students. Funds from various school endowments are being used to pay a portion of each student’s tuition directly to the Diocese. This reduction in tuition has helped increase enrollment at Epiphany School which in turn helps mitigate the school’s annual budget deficit.
But, these endowments will eventually be depleted and other funds must be raised to replace them.

Create a Foundation: The Friends of Epiphany School Foundation
The Foundation has been established to raise money to replace and expand on the endowments currently providing tuition subsidies to all Epiphany students. Funds raised by the Foundation will continue to keep tuition costs down for all Epiphany students, and will support the school’s and staff’s needs.
The Foundation is independent from the Diocese and is focused solely on the needs of Epiphany School.
The Friends of Epiphany School Foundation is a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation and 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization.

Giving Campaigns & Donations
Direct donations to the Foundations are solicited via mail and online giving campaigns and directly through the Foundation’s website.
Fundraising Events
The Foundation hosts events, e.g. the annual Friends of Epiphany School Golf Tournament and the Epiphany School Basketball tournament, to raise funds and create marketing opportunities for the school and foundation.
Direct Endowments
Through larger dollar donations, the Foundation is building an endowment that will support tuition subsidies, Epiphany students, and staff well into the future.
